Internet of Things Makes Today’s Homes Smart

Located in one of Hyderabad’s posh neighbourhoods, this lavish penthouse draws inspiration from the movie – ‘A Single Man by Tom Ford’

Rohit Reddy’s residence in Hyderabad is a two-bedroom, 6000 sqft home comprises an open kitchen, a living and dining area, a library and a pool with a deck. The luxurious pad is equipped with Lutron lighting controls, combined with motorised shades and a host of other home automation features, all of which have been brought together by Anusha Technovision Pvt. Ltd.

The automation systems seamlessly integrate with the interiors of the home, elevating the aesthetic and functional value to a whole new level. The unappealing switchboards have been replaced by a sleek and smart Palladiom keypad which makes lighting regulation convenient for the user. All the lighting fixtures in the residence can be easily adjusted to the desired lux levels.

The ambient lighting conditions in the home can be regulated by the click of a button. Sivoia QS Drapery track that regulate daylight ingress installed in the house can be operated at will, their smooth movement accentuates the look and feel of the interiors. For smooth and uninterrupted control of shades and HVAC devises has been chosen from the gamut of Lutron automation products.

System Used – Lutron HomeWork QS with a combination of Palladiom keypads and Pico keypads. Occupancy sensors have been used for the bathrooms. Lutron Sivoia QS drapery and roller shades have been used through the house.

While speaking to LED World, Alok Hada, Director, Anusha Technovision Pvt. Ltd., shared about the client’s specific requirements and which all solutions does the company offer to meet those specifications.

  • What solution did Lutron offer? Are these solutions capable of meeting client’s requirements?
    Lutron HomeWork QS system has been supplied and commissioned by ATPL for providing lighting and shade control in the residence with a combination of Palladiom keypads and Pico keypads. Occupancy sensors have been used for the bathrooms. Lutron Sivoia QS drapery and roller shades have been used through the house.

Lutron HomeWork QS system – Designed for homes, it seamlessly integrates the control of electric lights and daylight, along with integration with audio visual and HVAC systems. And it does all that while saving energy. In the Rohit Reddy Residence, Roller shades and Drapery equipped with Sivoia QS technology have been used.

 

  • In which all ways Lutron’s Keypads are meeting the lighting control needs?

Palladiom Keypads – Palladiom Keypads combine subtle elegance with architectural design. The Keypads allow the control of lights, shades/drapes and HVAC from one location, creating an optimal user experience. To give the product a coordinated look, faceplate and buttons are made up of the same material. User customisable, backlit text makes the keypad easy to read and provides scene status to the user.

Pico Keypads – Doubled as a stylish table-top or a wall-mounted keypad, pico wireless functions as a lightweight handheld remote. The large, easy to use buttons provide ease of control to the user and claim a battery life of 10 years.

 

  • How important was the role of Anusha Technovision in this installation of lighting solution?
    The job of integration and programming is executed by Anusha Technovision. Lutron system talks to the Crestron CP3 processor and all control is through a customised Graphics User Interface designed by ATPL on customer’s iPad/iPhone using Crestron application. The air condition is controlled via third party cool master. Alexa is used for voice command of control system in four areas of the house.

All in all, a fully integrated user experience for the homeowner who is very happy with the automation system by Anusha Technovision and is already in talks for his new bigger upcoming bungalow.

The game changing impact of the Internet of Things has made possible advancement in smart home technology, ensuring safety, security, comfort and luxury though intelligent connected devices and systems.
