Supported by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and chief industry associations, Light + LED Expo India turned out to be a highly-lucrative business event for Indian lighting industry. With most versatile display of lighting products as well as a strong line-up of “Made in India” products, the exhibition converged 13,617 trade visitors from India and various parts of the world.

India’s largest and most-anticipated b2b lighting exhibition, Light + LED Expo India, organised by Messe Frankfurt India and ELCOMA proved to be a phenomenal sourcing and networking event for the lighting sector.

Held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, the b2b event equipped with over 1,000 futuristic and essential lighting products from 240 exhibitors, drew in 13,617 business visitors from 27 Indian states and 5 union territories as well as international visitors from 34 countries, including: Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Turkey, UAE, UK and USA.

The show floor of Light + LED Expo India was decked with most comprehensive range of lighting applications, including smart, solar and other energy efficient lighting products, decorative indoor and outdoor lighting solutions, attractive luminaires, as well as core components and raw materials. The trade fair also demonstrated India’s growing technological prowess and self-reliance in the lighting segment by displaying “need of the hour” parts and products such as chips, drivers and other crucial LED components from local lighting manufacturers.

Witnessing the technologies and trends presented on the show floor, Mr Maurice Maes, President, Global Lighting Association, who was also part of the inauguration panel, commented: “It is very promising to see all the innovations and latest stage of development here at Light + LED Expo India, which lends a lot of attention on human-centric lighting, energy efficiency drivers and sustainability challenges that we all face.”

The three-day exhibition proved to be a high-value business platform and pivotal meeting place for the lighting fraternity. Speaking about the leads that their company generated through the platform, one of the exhibitors, Mr Raj Shah, Director, SmartiQo, shared: “We have amassed more than 600 to 700 good leads at this exhibition. It is certainly a great platform to showcase your company or introduce your brand in the market.”

Apart from the number of visitors, the exhibitors were also impressed by the quality and variety of business visitors. Mr Gautam Malkani, Managing Director, Fulham India, shared: “We have received excellent footfalls throughout the show. In principle, we have had lots of interactions with OEMs, manufacturers, consultants and specifiers.”

Akin to the exhibitors, the business visitors found exceptional business value in Light + LED Expo India. Impressed by the profusion of business opportunities, Mr Rajesh Uttamchandani, Director, Syska Group who visited the show, confirmed their participation in the upcoming LED Expo edition: “The show has been organised beautifully. A number of OEMs and suppliers have visited this platform and we are really happy to see that. We have committed our participation in the next show today itself.”

Mr Harish Gupta, Owner, Mahindra Electricals, a visitor from Uttarakhand, also shared his experience: “I have visited many stalls and witnessed a wide selection of products which will help us to expand our business. We also came across some outdoor designs which we have not seen before. All-in-all it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely want to visit the show again irrespective of where it is held in India.”

The b2b exhibition was supported by Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and chief industry associations, including: Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), The Energy Resources Institute (TERI), Luminaires Accessories Components Manufacturers Association (LACMA), Indian Buildings Congress (IBC), Indian Society of Lighting Engineers (ISLE) and BSES Rajdhani Power Limited.

After a successful conclusion of its most-anticipated lighting exhibition, Messe Frankfurt India will converge the lighting fraternity together once again through LED Expo Mumbai and LED Expo New Delhi on 11 – 13 May 2023 and 2 – 4 November 2023 respectively.
