The Detroit Zoo lit up with five million LED lights displayed on trees, buildings, pathways and various animal sculptors was the perfect start to the holiday season. The displays of lights were up for 24 nights to ring in festive mood among people. More than 200 animal sculptors were il-luminated and most of them represented the specific species found in the zoo. A special Rudolph package was available and up for grabs wherein people were given 3D glasses that gave them enhanced visions of the lights and they could for example see LED lights turning into snowflakes, snowman, etc.
