According to a leading newspaper, private and government buildings in the periphery of iconic Gandhi Maidan in Patna will be lit by energy-efficient lights soon. The colourful lights will be used based on a common theme.
Patna Smart City Private Limited (PSCL) has collaborated with Bihar State Tourism Development Cooperation (BSTDC) and taken up the initiative of illuminating buildings as part of the PSCL project of beautifying Gandhi Maidan.
The makeover process would include the installation of LED lighting along with the painting of the tracks. The theme and design of the refurbishment will be laid out by team members from PSCL, tourism department and a designing firm to be selected after the bidding process. Furthermore, the work will be initiated after a design firm has been chosen for illuminating the park.
Owners and caretakers of the hotels, private properties and other government buildings neighbouring the Gandhi Maidan have been given instructions to abide by the theme which will
be created soon. According to a PSCL, the buildings which will get the light as part of the project will bear the cost for the same. The team will only be helping them in designing and keeping up with the theme. The entire cost of the project will be around Rs22 crore and is expected to be completed before August 15.
