Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages has achieved the target of 100% LED lighting in its factory at Ameenpur in Telangana. This is the second factory after Vijayawada to have achieved the goal. It is in line with the company’s commitment to have at least 40% of its energy requirements at factories met through clean and green energy by 2018.
Ameenpur factory achieved 100% LED lighting over a short span of seven months resulting in a saving of 2.73 lakh units (KWH/annum) and reduction of around 151 tonnes in carbon footprint.
The company’s factories in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have started using solar power for their primary energy requirement. Ameenpur factory meets 75 per cent of its needs through solar energy, while the two other at Vijayawada and Srikalahasti meet 50%.
