Rechargeable LED Light Bulb that can operate normally even when there is a power outage is now seeking crowd-funding support to enter mass production. In fact, SmartCharge Light is preparing its second-generation of energy-efficient LED Light Bulbs for shipment in spring 2016, with initial sampling already under way. “We are now operating a crowd-funding campaign on IndieGoGo to raise the $50,000 needed to put the product into mass production,” Shaliendra Suman, CEO of SmartCharge Light parent company TVL International. “The company is looking for distributors all over the world. A limited number of samples are available for distributors to test.”
SmartCharge™ LED Bulbs, which is designed to both save energy and enhance safety, looks like a normal light bulb from the outside but has technology built inside that enables wall switch control of the lights even when the power is out without any extra wiring. This feature allows consumers to have light during a power outage when they need it and conserve battery power to extend the time that light from the SmartCharge Bulb is available. The bulbs carry UL, CE, FCC, and RoHS certifications.
SmartCharge™ LED energy-efficient light bulb supplies up to 4 hours of backup during a power outage, works like a normal light bulb, and fits a standard fixture. Comes in two bases E-26/E-27 and B22 types, these bulbs are available in three colour-temperatures 3000K, 4000K, and 5000K to fulfill specific requirements. SmartCharge Light is ready with the second-generation product i.e. SmartCharge 2.0, which it claims to be the world’s only light bulb with ‘Switch and Grid Sensor’ technology to enable the switch to operate normally (on/ off) even when the power cuts.
“SmartCharge 2.0 features significant improvements. It is nearly twice as bright at 650 lumens as the original SmartCharge light bulb, and will also carry a lower suggested retail price less than $25. Additionally, with the 2.0 version of SmartCharge, one wall switch can now control multiple bulbs on a circuit,” elaborated Suman adding that the bulb works on all supply voltages between 110 V and 240 V, thus can be used in any country. “The consumer can also put the bulb in charge-only mode, where the back-up battery is recharged without the bulb being lit.” and we’re very pleased with initial reaction to our second generation SmartCharge product,” said Suman.
