Please elaborate on your journey in the lighting industry.
We are into manufacturing since 1994 and have a facility at Vasai in Mumbai. We started working in the field of LED technology in 2009 and today we have complete range of indoor lighting solutions. Following the wave through which the industry is moving, we have recently added IoT-based lighting solutions in our portfolio which comprise app-/remote-controlled lighting as well as energy-efficient power-saving solutions that can be integrated with building automation system. We also provide sensor-based luminaries which are compatible with building automation.
Human-centric lighting is becoming popular now and lighting companies are bringing new solutions in this regard. Do you plan to cater to this market?
Yes, we too have come out with human-centric lighting solutions. This is being used mainly in IT companies nowadays because of their 24×7 working hours. This lighting is really good for human health so much so that we ourselves recommend it to such companies. We reach out to them through our specifiers, mainly architects and consultants.
What should be the focus of human centric lighting?
While developing human-centric lighting solutions, one must keep in mind the health concerns. Throughout the day, there are constant changes in our hormones. Human-centric lighting works in tune with the changes taking place in day light and helps our bodies adjust to the artificial light. These lights are actually designed to keep changing their intensity according to the sunlight, so that the hormones remained unaffected and don’t allow the occupants to feel lazy.
It is generally observed that people start feeling sleepy after lunch. So, if we switch the light to 6000K or 7000K, their energy level would surge automatically. This whole process helps improve productivity.
Similarly, one shouldn’t sit under blue light during night time. It isn’t that harmful but one should avoid it owing to its effects on our sleep pattern. Blue light disturbs our circadian rhythm by disrupting creation of sleep hormones. Therefore, it is advisable to go for warm white instead of blue during night time.
Please throw some light on your manufacturing capacity?
Our manufacturing facility/assembling unit is in Vasai near Mumbai, which is spread across 15,000 sq. ft. wherein we are manufacturing around 5,000 fittings (overall) on monthly basis. We have appointed our associates all around the country for service purposes.
Please name some of the brands you have worked with.
Till date, we have provided our lighting solutions to offices of a few renowned brands including Samsung, Volkswagen, Vodafone, Zee TV, Google, etc. Besides, we also cater to the hospitality industry.
What are some of your most recent launches?
We noticed that products with lens are doing very well nowadays, and therefore, we have also come out with an anti-glare product. We have developed a product wherein one can change the CCT from 3000K to 6000K with the help of a remote. We are the first ones to bring such a solution. We have also developed new tracklight design in spotlights and have come out with laser linear lighting. Apart from getting inspired with European products, we have our own design team which designs and develops our new products.
Do your customers have any specification requirements?
Generally, they enquire about the LED brand and LM80 report. They are mostly concerned about the life of the fittings. Once we provide warranty, they accept any product. Nowadays people give five years warranty for LEDs, but we generally give two years for our products. If client insists, we extend that to 5-year at some extra cost.
How is the company fairing in terms of revenue?
Our revenues are growing by about 15% year-on-year.
