Ghaziabad’s streetlights will soon be revamped and about 50,214 streetlights in Ghaziabad district will be replaced with LED energy-saving lights, sodium bulbs and tubelights. This project has been undertaken by the GMC and is expected to bring about a revolutionary change in power consumption. New LED energy saving lights expected to reduce electricity costs invested by the agency by up to 60%. A private firm based in Mumbai, ‘White Placard Technologies’ has been chosen to execute the project and has been given a time of seven years to do the replacements.
