India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) announced plans to promote tourism growth in India. The organization will be offering consultancy services for signage and decorative lighting. ITDC will be helping with consultancy for innovative and decorative lighting in monuments and other places of interest in Gujarat.
The MoU was signed by senior officials of Gujarat Tourism, the Ministry of Tourism, ITDC, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat, the Chief Minister of Gujarat and the Union Minister of State of Tourism. Union Minister Pahlad Singh Patel stated during the session that Gujarat’s scope in tourism has many new focused sights and the government will be working with ITDC to promote tourism in creative ways.
The MoU was signed at an event in Dhordo, Kutch to discuss the importance of Community Participation and Destination Management in Gujarat’s tourism sector. The event had speakers from the government and the tourism industry showcasing and discussing the best practices in the field. The event was held to help understand the frameworks, challenges and approaches needed to improve tourism in Gujarat and help improve the state’s economy via the tourism industry. Decorative and innovative lighting will play a major role in helping promote tourist spots throughout the state.
