The University of Washington football team is known as the Washington “huskies.” The University of Washington football team shocked many people last season when they won the PAC-12 and earned a spot in the College Football Playoff. However, even after losing, to Alabama in the semi-finals, the Huskies were rewarded with an incredible and shimmering new locker room.
While beautiful, high-tech locker rooms are not new to college football (see Oregon, Tennessee, or Alabama, the Huskies are the latest school to join the bunch. This has made all the players extremely happy and excited. “Coach Pete said he’s always been about having a championship locker room, so he wanted to put his money where his mouth was and build us a championship locker room,” said defensive tackle Greg Gaines.
Recently the team was surprised with the new locker room amplified with the installments of LED lights just before their first practice of this season. The new locker room has been completely transformed and looks vibrant with almost a look of a “spaceship”. The glow of the 1.1 miles long LED light has totally enhanced the look of the locker room. The design Firm Gallagher is responsible for bringing this out of the box look.
The new locker room costs $1 million which was financed by donations from UW boosters. The highlights of the locker room are: application controlled LED header and toe kick lighting and more than 5,800 feet (or 1.1 miles) of LED lighting.
