The Roswell Museum and Art Center located in New Mexico, US has installed LED lighting to enhance the beauty of its priceless collection of Southwest art and artifacts, alongside saving money. A recently completed retrofit made possible through an Xcel Energy efficiency program has elevated the quality of light illuminating the museum’s collection. Moreover, as LED bulbs use 70 to 90 percent less energy and last at least fifteen times longer than conventional lighting, the Roswell Museum can save up to $14,000 a year on lighting costs. This will eventually help its staff to manage the museum’s financial assets, collections, and physical resources efficiently.
