Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC) proudly announced expansion of its portfolio. It is adding six new low reverse-current Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs). The new diodes CCS15F40, CUS15F40, CBS10F40, CUS10F40, CTS05F40, and CUS05F40 have a reverse voltage of 40V and are perfect for boosting voltage circuits in white LED backlights and for liquid crystal displays in mobile devices.

The new reverse current of is 25μA (max)[1] and the new SBD’s thermal runaway temperature is 35°C higher than previous products, which contributes to stable circuit operations. The CCS15F40 is one of the 6 diodes and features a fast switching action because of the low total capacitance of 130pF (typ.) @VR=0V. Thus the low power consumption of the device due to a low reverse current makes thermal runaways an unlikely occurrence even if the surrounding temperatures are high.

The surface mounting diodes are available in a myriad of many package types and sizes thus making them application friendly wherein features like lightweight, compact size and high efficiency, matters a lot.

“As mobile devices become more and more sophisticated, the use of voltage boosting circuits of 30V or higher will increase,” noted Talayeh Saderi, senior business development manager for TAEC. “We will continue to add higher peak reverse voltage diodes to our product lineup to meet expected demand.”
