Asia’s biggest lighting expo Hong Kong International Lighting Fair upholds its spotlights on the smart lighting segment. Continuing the innovative trend that the Show is known for, the recently ended Spring Edition of the Show brought forward the dynamism and vibrant development taking place in the global lighting arena. Over 1,300 exhibitors from 13 countries participated in this four-day event where exhibitors from Turkey, Thailand and the Philippines were the first timers.
There were quite a few new launches that could hold the breath of the onlookers, while latest technologies in lighting were catching people’s attention at large. The products on the anvil were innovative, smart & with multi-functions, which can be controlled easily through smart devices and remote controls thus facilitating a more comfortable living environment.
- Sino Digit Technology Limited showcased a LED Wi-Fi Anti-Mosquito Bulb, which has an output of over 800 lumens. Branded as Bell & Wyson, it is the first Wi-Fi connected LED bulb that includes a system based upon the latest anti-mosquitoes technologies to trap and kill mosquitoes. In fact, it has built-in IR-sensors to detect mosquitoes, and it can stimulate UV light and CO2 to lure mosquitoes into a trap. Being Wi-Fi enabled, this dimmable and programmable bulb can be controlled from anywhere.
- Shenzhen EMOI Lifestyle Co., Limited showcased Smart Flower Lamp Speaker, a design inspired by saplings and blossoms, as well as a combination of LED light, music player, and power bank. Users can remote control its functions through the specified APP, including music player, light control and timer. In addition, the product includes a built-in microphone that allows users to make hands-free calls. The handy design also makes it very convenient to carry along.
- Lighting fixture is not just for illumination, it also enhance the taste of life. DS Holding Industries Limited displayed its Edison X-Large Globe Squirrel Filament Light Bulb. The vintage light bulb is quite versatile which can be used with a lamp shade or can be used independently. Using the latest technology that mimics an incandescent bulb, the classic design can simply be decorations for home, even cafe, bar, restaurant, hotel, store etc., creating a soft and nostalgic atmosphere.
- Taiwanese exhibitor iSmart Electronic Tech. Co., Ltd. exhibited a Die-casting Laser Meteor Shower Projector that produces bright and stable laser light. The product can decorate outdoor living space with wireless remote control and an automatic 24-hours cycle timer, as well as waterproof and can work in low temperature.
- Hong Kong-based Matrix Holdings Limited introduced its latest technology called 3LED Bulbs. Owing to its unique stick shape, the bulbs have a 330° beam angle. The company claims that these bulbs have improved heat dissipation performance. Available in 4W to 10W, the LED bulbs produce light output from 440 lumens to 1100 lumens. Available in a variety of base-options like E14, E12, E26/E27, B22/B15; 3LED is engineered with patented technology for more than CRI 90, consistent colour temperatures and high efficiency of 90 l/w.
- Mooni, the Swedish brand showcased its latest LED lanterns with portable Bluetooth speakers – TakeMe and Ovo – that can be used both indoors and outdoors. For these devices, the light and sound can be managed by a remote control, achieving a desirable atmosphere at any event. The 5W-LED light comes with multiple colour options which users can change via Mooni’s remote. Both the devices can be charged with a patented Wire-Free charging plate. It has a workable service over separations as far as 5-cm, which allows users to mount the charger under furniture surfaces.
- Dutch lighting company Lightmakers B.V. has been a renowned manufacturer & supplier of Decorative Lighting and accessories for more than 4-decades now. Designed by in-house teams in both the Netherlands and China, the hand-made products exhibit unique finishing and quality design, which can be customised. Catering to a niche market, the Dutch maker got lot of buyers’ attentions at the fair. As of now, the company owns a collection of 4,000 items and exports to over 70 countries.
- JPK Korea, a specialist in IT and LED lighting technology, presented its Intelligent LED Lighting System using patented IR communication technology. Meant specifically for parking spaces, the IR sensors-based smart system can help achieve motion detection, ambient detection for automatic brightness adjustment, dimming control, and managing lights in group. This innovation can let the company compete with the giant like Osram in the international markets.
- Civic Media Co., Ltd. from Thailand introduced the colour-changing LED T8 kit for chicken farm lighting. The tube light attributes two colours – Blue & White. Blue light is used during the daytime as research shows that blue light can help relieve stress and improve growth of chickens, and when chicken farmers come to work, they can turn on the White light. Users can use a smartphone APP to change colour and dim the lights.
