Laxmi Vilas Palace and Kirti Stambh are the famous historical and landmarks in the city of Vadodra. The two monuments have recently undergone a makeover which has given us a reason to gaze at them. Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) formed a new illumination cell which is responsible for illuminating these two beautiful and splendid monuments.
The cell formed has initiated this move in order to create and highlight the beauty and significance of these historical monuments. The heritage buildings have been highlighted with LED lights that focused on their architecture. This will not only be energy saving but also enhance the beauty of the monuments.
The first structure which was highlighted under this was the lamp tower or ‘deepmala’ at Yavateshwar Mahadev Temple on the Jail Road. LED lights have also been installed on the Sayajigunj clock tower, the memorial of Prince Fatesingh Gaekwad opposite Kirti Mandir near Kalaghoda Bridge, Khanderao Market and others.
However, the illumination of the gate was done only after taking permission from the royal Gaekwad family. Because, of the reason that the entrance gate and the palace are in the possession of the family. Now, according to the sources Laheripura gate and other structures will be illuminated soon under this initiative.
