Ghaziabad Development Authority illuminated the Hindon elevated road with hues of the tricolour LED lights. It is a 10.3 km long, elevated road which connects Raj Nagar Extension in the city to UP Gate at the border with Delhi.
Tricolour lighting was done in the month of January which turned the road into an impressive feat. It not only enhanced the appeal of the stretch of the road, however, also triggered patriotic feelings among the commuters. Tricolour lightning was also done in Raj Nagar Extension and other roads of the city in order to sync with the feeling of Nationalism, around the period of Republic Day.
The plan to switch from sodium vapour lamps to LED lamps was taken in order to cut down on energy costs in the long run. The move is not only going be cost effective but also make the environment greener due to the reduced carbon emission. The newly installed LED lighting solutions effectively enhanced the safety around the road as well as helped in beautifying the road.
About 1,000 LED lamps were installed at the elevated road from poles set up on either side. Steel brackets emerge from poles on one side of the road to suspend another LED lamp below, which will illuminate the road running underneath the elevated road. Apart from this, solar panels have been installed to power the LED lights on the Hindon elevated road to save on the operational costs.
