JTA Plans to Install LED Lights in Acosta Bridge

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority tested new lighting at Jacksonville’s Acosta Bridge. The blue neon lights that were installed on the bridge back in the late 1990s had stopped working around four years ago.

To rectify the situation, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) had planned last year to spend around $2.6 million to replace the neon lighting with latest LED lighting solutions.

According to reports, the first series of tests were conducted to check the new lights as well as the way they would look after the installation. The tests were conducted around dusk so perceive how bright they are when they are turned on also, when the sun is still up and got a little bit of lighting compared to what they will look like in the dark of the night.

The new lighting system will be soon as the goal is to have the new lights running in time for the next celebration of Fourth of July. There are innumerable benefits of LED lighting such as energy efficiency and environment friendly, which are driving their rise in their application all across the world.
