There has been a radical shift in agriculture in which plants can be grown commercially without a single sunbeam. A number of technological advances have made this possible, however, more so with the innovations in LED lighting.
LEDs are used similarly as alchemy in their agricultural applications. They change how plants grow, when they flower, how they taste and even their levels of vitamins and antioxidants. The LED lights can also increase the shelf life. Additionally, to shaping the plants they allow speedy and year-round crop cycles.
LED lighting has completely transformed the applications of lighting in agriculture. Initially, greenhouses have relied on high-pressure sodium lamps to supplement sunlight; however, HPS lights are not apt for solar-free farms because they consume far more power to produce the same light levels.
They also release more heat to place near young greens or another favored factory farm crop such as micro-greens. Currently, many Greenhouses are opting for a combination of HPS and LED lighting for supplemental lighting. Although, it is predicted by the analysts that in the near future they will be lit by LEDs alone.
