The government buildings in the State of Tennessee will get lighting upgrades. The famous Germany company Osram’ is supplying new LED lighting systems for government buildings throughout the state. And, Sylvania Lighting Solutions is helping to install the lighting upgrades. The state’s biggest, renowned and historic offices and agency sites will get the LED makeover.

The state is expecting a reduction in electricity consumption for the lighting of between 60 percent and 80 percent. This will eventually lead to a lowering some of the state’s individual building energy and electric bills by up to 28 percent. The company points out that in a building with no central energy plant, lighting can use up to 40 percent of the building’s electricity.

“Like many historic state buildings throughout the country, these building systems are aging, so facility managers are turning to advanced, energy-efficient lighting as a way to upgrade their facilities to enhance employee productivity and comfort while dramatically reducing costs,” said Rich Hunter, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for OSRAM’s Sylvania Lighting Solutions. “We’re thrilled to be part of such an expansive project that will deliver meaningful results for the residents of Tennessee and help bring such historical and iconic buildings into the modern age.”

The team of designers and engineers from Sylvania lighting solutions has teamed up with the Capital Projects Group of the State of Tennessee Real Estate Management (STREAM) division. They are intending to customize lighting designs for each site to fulfill the requirements of the space and its occupants and deliver the wanted ROI.
